Job Purpose

The Build Operations Engineer assists and deploys the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational solutions within the Infrastructure and Operations Build team. This is a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance architecture and  infrastructure to support business operations and innovation throughout the Build Operations domain.  The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value across the Infrastructure and Operations Buid domain.

Job Description

The Services in the scope are:

  • All Infrastructure and Operations Build domain subjects, including but not limited to Automation & Web application development, Cloud, Connectivity, Unified Communications & Endpoint

 

 

Main activities:

  • Ensure platform integrity aligns with technical roadmaps.
  • Identify ways to simplify architecture and solutions while avoiding new complexities.
  • Lead the delivery of business value and improved user experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure successful implementation of IT projects
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system diagrams, design specifications.
  • Provide support, guidance where appropriate whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement, delivery quality, change management, skills development and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to inform strategic decisions in the ‘Build Operations domain
  • This role requires engaging with a global, multi-national team and adapting quickly to new technologies, while sharing knowledge and motivating colleagues.

You are meant for this job if:

 Qualifications:

  • BSc in relevant discipline

 

Required experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of automation Intune and SCCM.
  • Proficient in web application development using JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with cost optimization strategies in cloud platforms
  • Proficient in hybrid infrastructure models, with hands-on knowledge of both cloud and on-premises solutions

 

Required technical/problem solving skills:

  • Proven, demonstratable and evidence-backed experience developing and scripting with PowerShell.
  • Understanding of CI/CD development cycle, usage of distributed version control and collaboration tools, such as GitHub Enterprise.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform as well as pipeline tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Extensive knowledge of automation such as Intune and SCCM.
  • Skilled in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure to support business services
